I know this interview is a couple of years old, but I thought it might be nice to add to Youtube. From what I have read on different forums the movie is supposed to have a budget on 120 million dollars. Currently they are at the stage of choosing a director.

I don't have much faith in you doing the series justice.
a minute... they were actually pretty good... hmm
They were sent to Earth to populate it but humanity was sent also by mistake... thus the war
helps them instead of the whole thing. Also, none of these guys are American
in new zealand and they have already an impressive number of good movies under their belt both praised for visuals and storytelling. these include: The Lord of the Rings trilogy King Kong District 9 Hellboy etc. I think if they did a eva movie they would do it right......
don't know. They can't even pronounce Evangelion correctly.

fan will provide extreme dedication and critique which is essential. Also King Kong was kinda a fail since the majority of people didn't like it..

and the things they go through and have gone through in there lives. All in all this could have been a highschool slice of life anime if they wanted too but giant robots and monsters sell better :D But they should focus on that aspect of the story the most.
rebuild movie series?
no idea when this live action movie will see its day. Its been an on off thing for the last decade which is sad. They still haven't finished the rebuild movie series yet so its hard to say. Nonetheless, I believe we will see a Evangelion movie once the Akira movie is finished and successful. Wil
l hopefully cause a chain reaction of demands for Japanese anime into live action movies. Fingers cross..
want to see the story first and for most. plus im kinda against them doing full cgi for the evas..it should be puppets/machines with some cgi when neceassary.
ashamed lol.. Yeah I totally agree with you on this. Less CGI would be ideal.
