     he CARES FOR her, but to what extent really isn't clear. Hell, he CARES FOR Asuka too, but we can't be sure if either of those is genuinely romantic attraction, or just caring about them. I see this as him saying "never again" after not doing anything got Asuka killed (well he thinks killed, he
    doesn't know she's alive 'cause he didn't see the "next time" trailer). But anyway, great scene, and I REALLY want to see where this is all going in Q.

    What gives you that idea? That's not logic at all. He's a fourteen year old kid. He didn't want to hurt her so he refused to fight her (he friggin' says as much if you had actually payed attention). He would literally rather die than hurt
     her, and then the Dummy Plug takes over and there's literally nothing he CAN do. It locked him out. And then he goes crazy and threatens to trash the Geofront.

    Is "badass" a positive or rather negative word in this context? I'm a Japanese viewer and don't know much about English slangs. And has evaluation toward Shinji in USA or other countries changed after this new series? (Among japanese fans, Shinji was rather a controversial figure, especially
     in THE END OF EVANGELION. But after this REBUILD 2:22, the evaluation toward his has changed dramatically, and some fans even started to call him "Shinji-san", which means "Shinji is totally cool!!)
