Leonard Bernstein is one of the best and most famous composers, conductors and musicians of the world, ever. The innovative music, which he composed for the immense popular film "West Side Story" must be one of the reasons, at least for the beginning of an unique development in and for the hist
ory of music, and for the name Leonard Bernstein. We will never forget him. He lived from August 25, 1918 till October 14, 1990. His passing away is a loss for the world. His music is eternal. More: http://www.leonardbernstein.com/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leonard_Bernstein For more videos: V

part at 3:14
love it.
"Learn that shit, and then forget that shit and just play!"
this every day.
piece ever. Maestro Berstein at the piano: brilliant.
in Beethoven's time for sure. Also, some famous works during the extremely emotion-emphasized Romantic era used brass instruments in the orchestra, like Ride of the Valkyries or Also Sprach Zarathustra's opening.
Europe.
from Mozart's era is worlds different from that of the Romantic era ) and jazzier music, I can safely say that Gershwin deserves to be mentioned among the those greats.
Perlman plays European music & is of European extraction. He plays jazz as if it were Klezmer, which is also European, which Jazz ain't.
lives in Europe for enough time to be considered "European". Being of European descent hardly matters, since Gershwin himself can claim his ancestors lived somewhere in Europe at some time. The Jewish heritage, which is distinct from the mere Euro heritage, is more important for both of them an
yway.
He doesn't play middle-eastern, Sephardic music which is a whole other genre.
Piano Concerto (1929-31)?
can be done but the result would be underwhelming.
A GENIUS PLAYING PIANO OR OCNDUCTING.. HE LEFT US THIS TREASURE. EXCELLENT CHOICE MY FRIEND.
eargasm!
this performance was recorded on video too. In terms of sound, I have the SACD and the engineering on this recording wasn't the greatest.
