    The Mana Beast--if you read the dialog carefully--is described as "a Flammie," not your Flammie. That is, the Mana Beast is of the same or similar species, but not the same individual animal that's been your companion since the torching of the Emperor's Castle. It is sensible,
     of course, to assume that with the disappearance of Mana in our world that Flammie indeed is lost to us, but like the Sprite is not dead, neither is Flammie. Rather, it is simply elsewhere beyond our cognition.

    This is pretty sweet. I just wish the bass
     guitar really stood out the way it does in the original. All of the bass guitar parts from that series are so freaking awesome.
