Of COURSE she sounds "upbeat" ... I'd choose the word "triumphant," or perhaps "conquering" or "overcoming." I wish your analysis was not so incredibly shallow, and you realized that this song is about gender differences; in her case, it's a jubilation
of women's abilities vs. men. In their case, it's a lament (from the male perspective) of the same difference. You'd think you'd GET that.

In fairness, you can't be "most unique." You're either one-of-a-kind or not. Kate Bush, in my view, is not unique amont amazing musicians, although she certainly IS an amazing musician. There appears to be a particular sexist tinge to the "likes" and "dislikes" of this version vs. the Kate Bush original-- which would be expected, because this song is all
about the difference between men and women; Kate Bush celebrates that; Placebo laments it, and it shows in the tone of the performances.
