    Why does Smeagel want the Ring so much? All I know is that in the story evil dude named Zaron was injured but didnt die cuz of the Ring then the dude who beat him sliced his fingers off the most of Zaron died except the part of his soul in the Ring and that it took the ppl and hobbits and elf (Legolas is a badass!) three books and three movies just to get on
     the mountain! That's all I really know so someone explain PLEASE!!!!!!???????

     Thing is, the only way to destroy the ring is in mount doom. Which is in the Middle of Sauron's empire. That's about it.

     his soul was trapped in the ring the ring has to be evil. right? i dont know why it didnt corrupt bilbo when he first got it until in later years though
