I'd like to hark back to a Rush song from 1978 called Hemispheres. It stresses the importance of balance in society and though it was referring to a balance between arts and the sciences it can also apply to a balance between
government control and corporate control. The cartoon here preaches against the government control but fails to emphasize the dangers of extreme capitalism. This is why America runs on a partially socialist economy: there are certain things we shouldn't trust to either side

I certainly can't give you an example from America because we run somewhere between complete capitalism and socialism, but
I can't wait to hear your examples on how socialism kills people. I do hope your definition of socialism is the same as mine, because the way you describe it makes it sound like you think socialism = systematic murder of rich people

Problem with this today. In the 50s Capitalism allowed corporations to build and grow stronger making more jobs for Americans. However, most major corporations now send all their jobs overseas and find ways to skip out on paying much of their taxes; creating less jobs here in America (hurting our economy as a whole) and giving the government less revenue (hurting its ability to look after our citizens).
I'm not saying that this is the only reason our economy sucks right now, but its part of it.

I'm too young to vote, so i won't really be able to back
anybody up, especially because nobody knows what will happen when Obama or Romney takes office in September. But i think the problem isn't just what obama's doing, it's that and more problems. I just hope it doesn't get any worse.
